I don’t think she’s gunning for the Iron Throne anytime soon, but she realizes that Littlefinger might be a better ally than she thought, a more trustworthy ally than she thought.”We’ll see where things go from there when Season 7 shows up Sunday, July 16 on HBO.Want more stuff like this? Posted March 15, 2017 by Gina CarboneIf you’re up to it, Google “Creepyshippers.” You’ll find the Tumblr page of “Game of Thrones” fans who ship Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen), aka Littlefinger, and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).HBO will soon give us “Game of Thrones” Season 7, but apparently this is the first time Aidan Gillen has heard that Littlefinger is considered a sex symbol. I don’t know, it’s interesting given that some of the strands in the story are unsavory or could be seen that way and Littlefinger’s relationship with Sansa Stark is quite unorthodox, without me trying to put as much warmth into it as I can and just play it for real. I’m not aware of being a sex symbol though.Well, knowledge is power.Gillen and Turner have both talked about that loaded look in the Season 6 finale, after Jon is declared the new King in the North, despite Sansa being the one to get Petyr and the Knights of the Vale to show up to win the Battle of the Bastards. Have you been surprised by that?GILLEN: Well, I’m kind of surprised by that now because I wasn’t really aware of it. As Turner put it to The Hollywood Reporter, “She looks at Littlefinger knowing that he would have put her as Queen in the North, and given her the credit she deserves. Collider didn’t mention Creepyshippers by name — and they are not the only ones who fancy Littlefinger, they’re just a passionate fandom — but the site did surprise Gillen by bringing up Littlefinger’s fans during a Q&A mostly about the actor’s role in “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.”Here’s that section of Collider’s interview:Are you surprised by the response people have had to Littlefinger worldwide? Like us on Facebook. He’s become a sex symbol.GILLEN: Has he?And I don’t think that’s the kind of character that usually becomes that because he’s self-serving and manipulative.
